The Underdog Basketball Academy is an annual youth skills camp operated by the Bobby Portis Foundation, founded by NBA Champion Bobby Portis. Created as a way to give back to the communities that shaped him, the Academy provides hands-on basketball training, mentorship, and inspiration to young athletes—while celebrating the underdog mentality that defines Bobby’s journey.
Primarily hosted in Little Rock, Arkansas, Bobby’s hometown, the Academy also extends its reach to other communities, including Milwaukee, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to youth development across both states.
This camp is about more than basketball. It’s about believing in yourself, putting in the work, and understanding that no matter where you start, your story matters.
The Underdog Mentality
The mission of the Underdog Basketball Academy is to teach young athletes the fundamentals of basketball while instilling values of discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and confidence.
Through skill-building, encouragement, and real-life mentorship, the Academy empowers youth to embrace their potential—on and off the court.
